We supply brand-new original equipment and aftermarket Air-Con Compressors for cars, vans, HGVs, agricultural vehicles and plant machinery. All of our compressors come with a 12-month warranty (subject to terms and conditions).
The compressor – also known as the air conditioning pump – is the driving force of the air conditioning system. It is a vital part of the system and is mounted in the engine compartment. The function of the compressor is to pressurise the refrigerant turning it from a liquid to a gas. It can suffer from clutch failure, damaged valves, a lack of oil, or even too much oil! Before replacing a failed compressor, it is important to identify why the current one has failed.
How to notice compressor failure:
- If the vehicle is not getting cold when the air conditioning is in operation – the compressor clutch is not engaging.
- A change to the engine tone – you should be able to hear a change in the running of the vehicle if the compressor is engaging.
If you have begun to notice any of the above or are experiencing problems with a component in your system, please book an appointment. One of our highly skilled technicians will diagnose the problem and get you back motoring as quickly as possible.
